Jakarta, January 23, 2025 – In line with the Prabowo-Gibran Administration's Asta Cita program to strengthen human resource (HR) development, PT Pertamina (Persero) supports young talents to excel in various fields such as science, arts, culture, and sports.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that one of Pertamina's efforts to develop human resources, especially among the younger generation, is by supporting sports events, particularly those with a significant impact on economic growth and national sports advancement.
“The company's support for the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia brings both direct benefits and a multiplier effect for the economy, tourism, creative and cultural industries, and sports in Indonesia," Fadjar explained.
He revealed that the 2024 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia created job opportunities for 2,750 workers, both directly involved in the event and those in supporting industries. The economic value generated from the multiplier effect reached approximately IDR 4.8 trillion.
Fadjar continued that to nurture outstanding talents in sports, Pertamina also supports volleyball athletes through the Proliga tournament. In the 2025 Proliga, the Jakarta Pertamina Enduro (JPE) women's volleyball team has demonstrated achievements and various victories. In basketball, Pertamina further strengthens its support for the Satria Muda Pertamina team, which regularly competes in the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL).
“Developing sports talents will produce exceptional athletes who will strengthen the National Team in international competitions, bringing honor and pride to Indonesia on the global stage,” Fadjar added.
In other areas, Pertamina has initiated various youth development programs, such as Pertamina Goes To Campus, the Sobat Bumi Scholarship, and Pertamina Muda (Pertamuda), which is a competition to gather startup business ideas from university students.
“We pay special attention to developing and nurturing young talents because they will become Indonesia's future and the sustainable energy drivers in the years to come,” Fadjar concluded.
Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina’s business lines and operations.**
