LPG 3 Kg Distribution Arrangement: Retailers to Act as Sub-Distributors
Jakarta, February 4, 2025 – To ensure a more targeted 3 kg LPG distribution, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (EMR) has confirmed that retailers, as sub-distributors, can still purchase LPG from official distribution points. This policy aims to maintain the availability of 3 kg LPG for eligible consumers while enhancing distribution control.
"Retailers are systematically registered in Pertamina's Merchant Applications (MAP)," said Heppy Wulansari, Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga.
Currently, nearly 63 million National Identification Numbers (NIK) have been registered in the MAP system, with the following breakdown:
- Households: 53.7 million NIK
- Micro businesses: 8.6 million NIK
- Targeted farmers/fishermen: 50,000 NIK
- Retailers: 375,000 NIK
"With this scheme, we aim to maintain service quality for the public while strengthening government oversight, through Pertamina, over 3 kg LPG distribution and consumption," Heppy added.
The government ensures that the 3 kg LPG supply remains unchanged and aligns with the predetermined quota. This distribution arrangement is intended to ensure that subsidies reach the right beneficiaries, not reduce the supply for eligible consumers.
