Jakarta, January 22, 2025 – PT Pertamina (Persero) supports the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG), one of the Prabowo-Gibran Administration's feature programs on the first 100 Days. Pertamina, a state-owned enterprise in the energy sector, is committed to providing energy, including fuel, LPG, and gas networks, to support the MBG program and promote food self-sufficiency in Indonesia.
It was demonstrated by Pertamina during the MBG Program implementation review at several locations, such as the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG), the Free Meal Kitchen in Curug, and SDN Curug Kulon IV in Tangerang Regency, Banten, on Wednesday (1/22). The event was attended by the Deputy Minister (Wamen III) of SOE, Aminuddin Ma'ruf, Deputy of Coordination of Information and Communication Evaluation of the Presidential Communication Office, Fritz Edward Siregar, Spokesperson of the Presidential Communication Office, Adita Irawati, with Independent Commissioners of Pertamina, Condro Kirono and Raden Adjeng Sondaryani, and Director of Human Resources of Pertamina, M. Erry Sugiharto.
The Deputy Minister of SOE, Aminuddin Ma'ruf, appreciates Pertamina's participation in the MBG Program and is proud to interact directly with the students who benefit from the program.
"Following the Minister of SOE directives, we must ensure active participation of SOEs in the MBG program. Therefore, we are conducting direct program inspections, including free meal kitchens. I hope this can serve as a model for other SOEs involved. Eventually, each SOE will have a designated area as a pilot project with different responsibilities. For example, Pertamina is tasked to ensure the safe and steady cooking gas or LPG supply," said Deputy Minister Aminuddin during the visit.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that the Pertamina Group has carried out various synergies and collaborations to provide energy for cooking nutritious meals. It includes cooperation between PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN), a Pertamina gas subholding, and the National Nutrition Agency.
PGN will develop urban gas network infrastructure to supply energy to nutrition service units, facilitating the cooking process.
“This MBG Program will provide good nutrition to students, fostering a healthy and productive young generation while promoting healthy eating habits within the community. It motivates Pertamina to support the MBG program and ensure energy availability throughout Indonesia,” Fadjar explained.
The MBG Program is a government initiative that provides healthy and nutritious meals to vulnerable groups, focusing on children and other at-risk populations. The meals follow the established nutritional standards, ensuring adequate protein, vitamins, minerals, and energy. This initiative is expected to create better conditions for children’s growth and development.
Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina’s business lines and operations.**
