Pertamina Optimizes Protection for Women and Children through CSR Programs and MSME Empowerment

Jakarta, January 21, 2025 – PT Pertamina (Persero) remains committed to providing benefits to society, the environment, and the economy. One of its initiatives includes optimizing women and children protection through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental Responsibility Programs.

Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that Pertamina continues accelerating its efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It also reflects Pertamina's support for strengthening women's roles, following President Prabowo Subianto's Asta Cita vision during his first 100 days in office and the Ministry of SOE's directives.

In conducting its business operations, Pertamina ensures balanced benefits for society and the environment.

"Pertamina supports women and children protection by providing education to reach 35,000 participants through the Sehati (Healthy and Loving Mothers and Children) Program and addressing nutritional needs for 18,000 babies," Fadjar explained.

Pertamina empowers and advances MSMEs to improve community living standards by facilitating access to capital for 73,000 MSMEs, which opens 36,000 new jobs. "MSMEs' income has also increased, reaching a total of IDR 24 billion annually," Fadjar added.

Following President Prabowo's Asta Cita vision and the Ministry of SOEs, Pertamina has empowered 22,000 women-led MSMEs, with 2,500 of them successfully scaling up their businesses through the MSME Academy and Pertamina's Rumah BUMN programs.

"In alignment with the government’s Asta Cita vision, Pertamina also empowers people with disabilities through the Sahabat Difabel (Friends of Persons with Disabilities) initiative. Approximately 2,900 businesses led by Sahabat Difabel have shown improvement, generating an economic value of IDR 1.9 billion," Fadjar elaborated.

In addition, support for the younger generation, in line with the government's Asta Cita vision, is implemented by positioning Pertamina employees as energy self-sufficiency drivers.

"Pertamina emphasizes the importance of collaboration, innovation, and readiness among its young employees to leverage new technologies in supporting energy independence and business development, including biofuels, petrochemicals, and other derivative products," Fadjar added.

He believes that with the full support of Pertamina's young generation, the company is optimistic about achieving energy self-sufficiency while ensuring sustainable energy for future generations.

Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina’s business lines and operations.**
