Supporting High-Achieving Young Generations, Pertamina Creates Training Program for Young Local Racers

Jakarta, January 28, 2025 – Pertamina continues its commitment to supporting high-achieving youth, one of which is its support for local young racers via a training program organized by Pertamina Lubricants in collaboration with the VR46 Riders Academy.

The President Director of PT Pertamina Lubricants, Werry Prayogi, stated that bringing the VR46 Riders Academy to the Mandalika Circuit strengthens the partnership between Pertamina Lubricants and VR46.

“Pertamina Lubricants aims to maximize the existing partnership while we strive to become part of Indonesia's racing development and take it to the global level,” Werry said.

At the same event, the Director of Sales and Marketing of PT Pertamina Lubricants, Dwi Puja Ariestya, explained that bringing the VR46 Riders Academy to Indonesia is not only a form of support to discover and nurture potential local racers but also ensures that Pertamina Enduro lubricants maintain the highest quality, as they are used by riders in MotoGP events.

“Through the branding collaboration with VR46, we hope it will make Pertamina Lubricants products more globally recognized. However, we do not only focus on the commercial aspect, but we also hope this collaboration benefits the nation, especially the racers, students, youth, and the Indonesian public interested in the world of racing and automotive,” Dwi Puja Ariestya said.

Dwi also highlighted the success of Pertamina Lubricants in bringing the VR46 Riders Academy team out of its headquarters in Italy for the first time, with Indonesia as its chosen destination.

“This activity could become a moment for the resurgence of motorsports in Indonesia,” he hoped.

Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fadjar Djoko Santoso, said this training program is part of Pertamina's support for the younger generation to excel, especially in the automotive field. It is also part of the support for President Prabowo Subianto's government Asta Cita program for the 100 days of work and the Ministry of SOE's direction.

“Through the VR46 Riders Academy training, we hope to create a new young racers generation and prepare them to compete in national and international racing events,” Fadjar explained.

Fadjar continued that, through this program, Indonesian racers could exchange knowledge with the VR46 Riders Academy riders. The training curriculum covers not only technical racing aspects but also other essential elements, such as public speaking, track understanding, and more. “This is certainly a great opportunity for local racers to take their skills to the next level, just like the racers at VR46 Riders Academy,” he added.

The training program was also attended by VR46 Academy riders, such as Pecco Bagnaia, Franco Morbidelli, Marco Bezzecchi, Luca Marini, Celestino Vietti, Mateo Gabarrini, with the technical and management teams of the VR46 Riders Academy.

The training program is joined by young, high-achieving, and potential racers under 18, who are expected to have the potential to become world-class racers. Among the participants are racers such as Muhammad Fadhil Musyavi, Arai Agaska Dibani Laksana, Danadyaksa Wida Pangestu, Felix Putra Mulya, Galang Hendra Pratama, Rafael Castillo, Valera Octavianus, Fadil Algassani, Sabian Fathul Ilmi, and Renaldy Junior. Ten mechanics from various cities in Indonesia also attended the training program.

The VR46 Riders Academy riders provide intensive training to the young racers, not only in physical preparation but also with technical support from experts in the field and psychological support.

Additionally, the Indonesian racers involved in this program will be selected through a special process to attend the VR46 Riders Academy in Tavullia, Italy, in mid-2025.

The VR46 Riders Academy is a racing academy founded by legendary racer Valentino Rossi. The event was held at the VR46 Riders Academy, Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, from January 27 to 29, 2025.

This event is also supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia, ITDC, Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), and the Indonesian Motorcycle Association (IMI). This training program aims to ignite the spirit and interest of the nation’s younger generation in motorsport racing.
